How LinkLoom works, what it records, and what it deliberately does not do.

Getting a short link

1

Paste a URL

Put the long URL in the field on the home page and press shorten. Nothing to configure, nothing to sign up for.

2

Take the code

You get a ten-character code immediately. Copy the short URL from the record, or open it to check where it lands.

linkloom.link/wnG6Gi8huM

3

Watch the clicks

Open show stats on the record for click counts, referrers, devices, browsers and a recent-click log.

linkloom.link/?analytics=wnG6Gi8huM

The short version

Everything worth knowing, in one table.

Lifetime30 days from creation. Re-shortening a live link does not extend it.
AccountsNone. There is nothing to sign in to.
Stats accessAnyone holding the code can read them.
Code length10 characters from A-Z, a-z, 0-9, - and _.
Links keptThe last 20 you made, in this browser's storage.
Recorded per clickTimestamp, browser, device, referrer.
CookiesNone for tracking.
CostFree.

Reading the stats

Charts are drawn in characters, so they copy and paste as text.

A bar is scaled against the largest value in its own series, not against the total — so the longest bar in each block is the busiest day, referrer or device, and the number beside it is the real count.

A trailing > means the period is still running, so that number will keep climbing. The expiry meter on each record works the same way: is a link with 21 of its 30 days left.

What there is no API for

Being direct about the gaps, so you do not build on something that will move.

There is no documented public API. The endpoints behind this site exist for this site, are unversioned, and may change without notice. If you need programmatic shortening, say so via the contact details on the terms page.

There is also no custom alias, no link editing, and no way to delete a link early — a code is issued as-is and expires on schedule. If a link is being abused, report it and it stops redirecting while it is reviewed.
