The service

LinkLoom is a free URL shortener with click statistics. Using it means you accept these terms.

It is free, needs no registration, and is intended as a simple tool for shortening a URL and seeing how it performed.

Acceptable use

You may not use LinkLoom for:

  • phishing, fraudulent sign-in pages, or other deception
  • malware, viruses, or unwanted software
  • impersonating another person, brand, or organisation
  • spam or unsolicited marketing
  • content or activity that is illegal where it is accessed
  • harassment, hate speech, or abusive content
  • copyright or other intellectual property infringement

Submitted destinations are screened automatically. Links that fail screening are refused outright, and links that cannot be verified show a warning page naming the destination before anyone is sent there. Any link that violates this policy is disabled without notice.

To report an abusive link, visit linkloom.link/report or go directly to linkloom.link/report/<code>. Reported links stop redirecting automatically until a person has reviewed them. Security researchers can find contact details at /.well-known/security.txt.

Availability and link lifetime

LinkLoom is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Short links are not permanent. A link expires 30 days after it is created, after which the code stops resolving and its statistics are gone. Shortening that URL again after it expires issues a fresh 30 days; doing so while it is still live returns the same link unchanged. Do not use LinkLoom where a permanent redirect is required.

We may modify or discontinue the service at any time.

Data

Only what is needed to run the service:

  • the URLs you shorten and the codes issued for them
  • per-click data: timestamp, device type, browser, referrer
  • aggregate usage statistics

No personal information is collected, no registration is required, and no advertising cookies are used. Note that a link's statistics are readable by anyone holding its code. The privacy policy covers this in full.

Limitation of liability

LinkLoom is free and we make no warranties about the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the service. We are not responsible for:

  • content reached through a shortened link
  • loss of data or interruptions to the service
  • damages arising from use of the service
  • third-party content or websites

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated. Changes are posted on this page with a new date above, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
