LinkLoom records the URLs you shorten and minimal per-click data. It does not ask who you are, does not use advertising cookies, and has no account to attach anything to.

The one thing to understand before using it: a link's statistics are readable by anyone holding its short code. There is no owner to check against, so treat a code as public.

When you shorten a URL:

• - the original URL
• - the generated short code and its creation time

On each click of a short link:

• - the timestamp
• - device type (mobile, tablet or desktop)
• - browser and operating system, as reported by the browser
• - the referring page, when the browser sends one
• - the IP address, used to approximate unique visitors and to rate limit abuse. It is not displayed in statistics.

A short link and its click data are kept for the link's 30-day life. When the link expires it stops resolving and its statistics go with it. Shortening that URL again after it has expired revives the same record for a fresh 30 days.

Links removed for abuse, and reports submitted about them, are kept longer than 30 days so the same destination cannot simply be re-submitted.

This site uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate usage, which sets its own cookies and collects data under Google's policy rather than this one.

Data is not sold, and is not shared with anyone else for marketing or advertising.

You can use the service without identifying yourself, and read the statistics for any link whose code you hold. Because nothing is tied to an identity, there is no account to delete and no export to request — a link and its data disappear when it expires.

The list of links shown under “your links” lives in this browser's local storage, not on the server. Clearing site data removes the list; the links themselves keep working until they expire.
